Do the working and funding conditions of nonprofits in poor communities confront them with the same stresses and instabilities of the low-income families they serve? What effects do lack of economic stability, limited social support, crowded or impermanent housing, lack of respect from peers, and less-than-positive relationships with local institutions have inside local or indigenous agencies striving to serve low-income communities?
